On Saturday 19 September at 15:00, the monograph “Lino Lucchini. Omaggio allo studioso lonatese” will be presented in the Sala degli Specchi of the Biblioteca comunale in Lonato del Garda. The book, published in the series I Quaderni della Fondazione dell’Associazione Amici della Fondazione Ugo Da Como, is dedicated to the local scholar Lino Lucchini (Caprino Veronese, 1926 – Lonato del Garda, 2025), whose work focused on researching and preserving local historical memory.
The event will highlight Lucchini’s extensive research into Lonato’s history, including archaeological investigations, traces of ancient Roman road networks, historical monuments, and the town’s administrative life and key figures across the centuries. The presentation is supported by the mayor of Lonato del Garda Nicola Bianchi and the councilor for Tourism-Culture-Events-Territorial Marketing Silvia Razzi, with collaboration involving the Municipality, the Fondazione Ugo Da Como, and the Associazione Amici della Fondazione. Also scheduled to take part are the association president Loredana Rocca and representatives of the Lucchini family, alongside the publication’s authors: Matteo Leali, Ivano Lorenzoni, Aldo Lucchini, Riccardo Pasqualin, Giancarlo Pionna, Davide Sigurtà, and Giuseppe Spataro.
The presentation will also serve as the official occasion to announce the Donazione Lucchini, with the scholar’s children entrusting the Biblioteca Civica di Lonato del Garda with all his printed works and manuscripts. The collection is intended to be a working resource and an incentive for new and future research into the history of the historic villages in the inland areas of Lake Garda.
