Lonato del Garda Issues Integrated Ordinance After Valli Spa Fire

The Municipality of Lonato del Garda issued mayoral ordinance no. 217/2026, following a technical meeting on Wednesday, 15 July, to update measures related to the fire at Valli Spa on Via Mantova Traversa Prima. The new order integrates ordinance no. 213 of 12 July and applies precautionary steps to people and activities within a 1-kilometre radius of the plant, aimed at reducing risks from ash, particulate matter and other combustion by-products.

Among the restrictions, the ordinance bans consuming food or water left outdoors and prohibits eating fruit and vegetables grown within 1 km until further notice. It also requires better storage of food and water for people and animals, keeping backyard poultry in enclosed areas where possible, and preventing animals from being fed with exposed outdoor food or water. Cleaning operations are planned for air-conditioning filters and air-treatment systems, while traffic changes introduced by ordinance no. 214 remain in force from 00:00 on 13 July until the end of the emergency, including transit and parking bans with forced removal in Via Pietra Pizzola (between civic no. 2 and the intersection with Via Fenil Bruciato), Via Mantova Traversa Prima, and the stretch of Via Mantova leading to civic no. 121/A, with exceptions for Fire Brigade vehicles, medical emergency services, law enforcement and other emergency vehicles.
