The Municipality of Lonato del Garda has initiated an important project for a new road network that will connect Via Molini to the SS11 interchange to the north, with a total development of 1.2 km. The expropriation procedures for acquiring the necessary areas were completed at the beginning of the year. This intervention is part of the compensatory works related to the Milan-Verona High-Speed/High-Capacity (AV/AC) project and also includes the construction of two roundabouts: one at the intersection of Via Fenil Nuovo Molini and the other on Via Bettola. Since 2016, the municipal administration has highlighted the importance of this infrastructure not only for the new municipal sports center but also to reduce heavy vehicle traffic in the historic center.
Currently, preliminary activities for the construction of the road infrastructures are underway, which will adhere to current regulations. Once these preparatory phases are completed, the actual construction work will begin, expected to last approximately one year, without affecting the current traffic layout in the area. Mayor Roberto Tardani emphasized that this project represents a priority for improving local mobility and ensuring greater safety for road users.
