Lonato Fiera Celebrates 43rd Anniversary with Big Brother-Themed Event

There will also be a special edition of “Grande Fratello” (Big Brother) for the 43rd anniversary of the Fiera regionale di Lonato, scheduled from January 12 to 14.

The event, as always, will offer visitors booths dedicated to agriculture, crafts, commerce, and enogastronomy. Like in the Mediaset television program, there will be a house with a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, furnished, and naturally, a courtyard with native animals.

However, there will be no cameras ready to catch even the most intimate moments of the guests; instead, the outside wall of the house will simply be missing: this will allow all fair visitors to see what happens inside.

Placement and Construction of the Structure

The structure will be placed in the next few days in piazzetta Porro Savoldi, almost at the end of the central corso Garibaldi, for those coming from Desenzano. The idea and the actual realization of the project belong to the Amici di San Tomaso, known for the famous “Bici matte” that we saw moving around in popular TV programs in recent months, such as those hosted by Gene Gnocchi and Cristina Parodi on Italia 1.

“We decided to call it the first edition of the Gran fratello lonatese on January 1, 1958,” explains Luciano Roberti, the group’s leader. “The date is not random and exactly coincides with the birth of the Fiera di Sant’Antonio Abate.

The house will be furnished with rural furniture—dressers, chairs, a 1950s stove—and the guests will be some of us, obviously dressed appropriately.” The effort they are putting in is, as always, considerable, even if it is just satire: we do not want to disgrace ourselves in the event with the thousands of people expected for this weekend fair.

Local Folklore and Viewing Hours

Some hamlets, such as San Cipriano, will bring their folklore to the festival with elaborately decorated floats. The Big Brother house will still be visible from 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, until 10 p.m. on Sunday, January 14.
