The sixth edition of the Green Park project concluded Sunday 13 September at the Centro Sportivo di Lonato 2, during the usual Festa della Lonato Sportiva. The initiative, aimed at promoting sport for everyone, recorded 110 registrations in 2026, doubling the figures compared with 65 in 2025 and 52 in 2024.
The growing number of participants was described as a positive sign of community interest in sporting activities even during the hottest months. Nicola Bianchi, the mayor, said: “Bringing sport to parks and outdoor spaces means making it even more accessible and offering simple, concrete opportunities to stay together and do physical activity.”
The Polisportiva Lonato del Garda acted as an organisational partner and coordinated the different local sporting groups. The collaboration helped create a schedule of as varied as possible activities, alongside various tournaments also promoted in the town’s frazioni. Sport councillor Giuseppe Borgese added that the project is increasingly appreciated by residents, thanking Cinzia Simioni and all the clubs that joined, and looking ahead to the next season with the goal of further consolidating and expanding the initiative.
