Lonato Hosts 13th Italian Wheelchair Archery Championship

The Associazione Villa dei Colli of Lonato, in collaboration with the Società Arcieri «Ad Flexum» of Desenzano, organized today and tomorrow the 13th Italian Wheelchair Archery Championship at the «Tre Stelle» sports field in Desenzano, located on via Michelangelo.

Archery is the only sport that allows both disabled and able-bodied athletes to compete together, since the wheelchair does not prevent participation in the discipline, given that the “rules of the game” are the same for all athletes.

Who doesn’t remember the participation of athlete Paola Fantato at the last Olympics held in Atlanta in 1996, and immediately afterward, her victory at the Paralympics?

She demonstrated how any type of sport can positively stimulate individuals with disabilities.
