Starting from **January 20**, a **traffic regulation** will come into effect that prohibits the passage of heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons in the center of **Lonato** and the surrounding streets. This decision was announced by Mayor Roberto Tardani during a meeting with neighborhood representatives, in preparation for the closure of the San Zeno tunnel on the ring road, which will last for a year. The aim is to ensure the safety of citizens and reduce the inconveniences caused by the diversion of heavy traffic.
The ban will affect several strategic roads, such as Via Cesare Battisti and Via IV Novembre, along with other major arteries. Trucks coming from Desenzano will have to stop at the roundabout near the Famila supermarket, while those arriving from Brescia will not be allowed to proceed beyond the border with Calcinato. Exceptions will be made for residents and local businesses, allowing them to use the shorter routes to reach their homes or commercial activities. However, access will be strictly monitored and limited to prevent Lonato from becoming an alternative route for heavy traffic.
