A fire broke out in a propane tanker traveling through the Pregasina tunnel in Riva del Garda at 9:40 AM on Wednesday, August 27. The Fire Brigade was promptly alerted to tackle the initial blaze and dispatched three fire engines, a water tanker, a rescue unit, and a command vehicle, totaling 25 firefighters from local and nearby departments. Thanks to their swift response, the flames were extinguished, and the vehicle was secured.
Initially, traffic in the tunnel was halted until 10:30 AM, when authorities reopened the area with alternating one-way traffic. The operations concluded without any injuries, and traffic is gradually resuming.
