Maderno’s Mu.Re Expands Exhibitions With New Galleries for War Relics Conservation
The Mu.Re Museo Recuperanti 1915-1918 in Maderno has expanded its exhibition at Palazzo Benamati with new gallery spaces, adding to the existing collection of bayonets, helmets, bombs, equipment and objects from the front line. The new rooms document the work of archaeologists and bomb disposal experts involved in recovering and preserving artefacts, with museum operations also supported by volunteers including Gibba and Alessandro.
To connect the museum with the local area, the programme includes “Passeggiata sui luoghi delle Guerre Mondiali,” led by Sebastiano Pernigo, on 20 June, 18 July, 8 August and 5 September, departing at 8:30 from the Mu.Re. A book presentation for *La Guerra di Piero* by Salvatore Goffi, with a discussion with Bruno Festa, is scheduled for 25 June at 20:30 at Palazzo Benamati.
