Magasa and Biodiversity: Conference on Mountain Pastures and Local Traditions
A conference dedicated to **biodiversity**, **mountain pastures**, and wild plants of culinary interest will be held in **Magasa** on Friday, July 11, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the municipal library. The event, titled “Ancient Knowledge, Living Landscapes,” is organized by the Forest Consortium Terra tra i due Laghi in collaboration with the Universities of Palermo, Perugia, and Molise, as well as the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. During the meeting, the importance of traditional management of mountain pastures for promoting local biodiversity and the use of wild herbs will be discussed.
The conference will be inaugurated with institutional greetings from Mayor Federico Venturini and other local representatives. Research concerning the habitats of food-interest plants will be presented, and historical agro-silvo-pastoral practices that have contributed to the conservation of the local ecosystem will be explored. The day will culminate on Saturday, July 12, with an excursion to Monte Tombea to closely observe the biodiversity present in its meadows. Interested participants will also have the option to attend the conference remotely via a link provided by the organizers.
