This afternoon, a large crowd gathered at the abbey in Maguzzano to pay their last respects to Matteo Tobanelli, the sixteen-year-old who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident that occurred on Thursday morning on the Sp25. The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow and emotion, as friends, classmates from the Bagatta high school, and family members shared their touching testimonies. His girlfriend and peers expressed their profound shock at the loss, describing a sense of temporal paralysis following the devastating news.
During the funeral homily, delivered by Don Giuseppe Accordini alongside the parish priest of Centenaro, Don Marco Grechi, the beauty of emotional bonds was emphasized. “Life is a riddle that is hard to understand,” Accordini reflected, urging everyone to meditate in silence rather than seek explanations. The priest highlighted the importance of human relationships and the hope needed to cope with pain: “Let us trust in hope, which sees what is not yet, but will be.”
