In Malcesine, an area of great appeal for both residents and tourists is drawing the attention of local authorities due to potentially dangerous behaviors. Specifically, the small beach of Posterna, located at the foot of the picturesque Scaliger Castle, has become the scene of a concerning increase in young people diving into the lake, driven by a desire for adventure despite the evident risks of the location.

Risks and Dangerous Behaviors

Recently, there has been a significant rise in the number of visitors to this area, with many young people ignoring restrictions and accessing the prohibited point. Some have even attempted to climb over a locked gate secured by sturdy iron bars to reach the shoreline. This situation has prompted Mayor Giuseppe Benamati to take decisive measures to ensure public safety.

Intervention by the Local Administration

In response to this growing issue, the local administration has issued an ordinance aimed at reinforcing the access ban to the area and explicitly prohibiting diving from the cliffs below the fortress. The initiative seeks not only to protect the safety of citizens but also to maintain the integrity of the historic site.

Increased Monitoring

Alongside the issuance of the ordinance, local police have intensified their monitoring efforts. During joint operations conducted by the mayor himself and law enforcement, numerous young people were identified while in the prohibited area with the intention of diving into the lake. These actions represent a concrete attempt by the authorities to curb behaviors that could endanger the lives of young individuals.
