Malcesine Choral Association Hosts European Performances and Future Plans
The rich concert activity of the Cima Valdritta Choral Association of Malcesine continues, with a new event scheduled for this evening. This time, alongside the Malcesine Voices Mixed Choir, exceptionally conducted by Maestro Enrico Miaroma, will be the Roverè Men’s Choir La Stele, directed by Maestro Gianni Scardoni, and the German Mgv Guechenbach Choir, coming from Riegelsberg.
The Roverè men’s choir was already a welcomed guest in Malcesine last July 14 during the Veronese Choir Festival, an event organized by the Veronese Section of Asac (Association for the Development of Choral Activities in the Veneto Region), in collaboration with the Malcesine association, and had received significant public success, thanks to its strong popular character, quite rare among the numerous choirs of the Veneto region.
At tonight’s event, the boys from Roverè will certainly renew the friendliness with which they were received by the audience. The situation is different for the German choir, which is performing on the Mel scene for the first time. Their presence will surely add a completely European touch to the evening.
Future Perspectives of the Association
Regarding the Malcesine choir, after this concert, the challenging task of finding a new director will resume. Maestro Miaroma, having recently been appointed a member of the artistic board of the Trentino choir federation, will not be able to continue, except sporadically, in his role as choir director.
Nonetheless, the association’s initiatives do not halt, as the official rehearsals of the children’s choir — Le Piccole Voci — will begin on October 19, directed once again this year by Maestro Mirko Vezzani.
The young choir will have a noteworthy concert season, starting with the Christmas concert held in Tregnago, at the local library, which will also feature other children’s choirs.
Finally, rehearsals for the youth section will resume from October 12. This year, it is particularly large, thanks to the addition of the most experienced singers from Le Piccole Voci.
Details of Tonight’s Concert
The concert tonight will begin at 9 PM at the Teatro Lacaor of the Malcesine Castle. In case of bad weather, it will be moved to the nearby Teatro Comunale Furioli.
