A lifeless man was found in the waters of Lower Garda last Saturday afternoon, between the towns of Desenzano and Sirmione. Shortly thereafter, authorities were able to identify him as Mohamed Karoui, a 54-year-old originally from Tunisia who had been living in Gargnano for several years.

The identification of the body was made possible by the victim’s employer, the owner of a hotel in Andalo. Concerned about the man’s disappearance, he contacted the authorities to confirm the identity of the deceased. Investigations are now underway by law enforcement to clarify the details that led to this tragic situation.

The autopsy conducted on the body revealed no obvious signs of violence. This finding has led investigators to consider several hypotheses regarding the cause of death. Among the possibilities being examined is the likelihood of an accidental fall from a boat or, alternatively, an extreme act by Karoui himself.
