Manerba Water Main Break Causes Disruptions Across Multiple Districts

A water supply failure overnight at the second intake of the Pisenze aqueduct led to the partial emptying of the reservoir and caused water service interruptions in Manerba del Garda on August 9. Areas including Balbiana, Montinelle and Solarolo saw very low pressure or no water, affecting homes, businesses and tourist facilities. Technicians and workers from Acque Bresciane worked for hours to restore flow, which returned to roughly normal conditions in the afternoon.

The emergency was worsened by high demand during the tourist season. The municipality had already issued a ban on using drinking water for non-essential purposes, with fines of €150 to €500 for activities such as watering gardens and vegetable plots, filling private pools, and washing vehicles or outdoor surfaces. The ordinance also asks residents to check for leaks and reduce household water waste.
