Mantua and Youth Crime: Operation Against Baby Gangs

Mantova, Youth Crime and Gang Activity: Widespread Controls in the Mantova Area An important police operation has taken place in the Mantova area, aimed at combating youth crime and gang activity, with the goal of addressing increasingly concerning behaviors among young people. Coordinated by the Central Operational Service of the State Police, the initiative has resulted in the identification of over 63,000 individuals across Italy, including 11,000 minors. In the Mantova area alone, law enforcement identified 1,065 individuals (192 of whom were minors) and checked 468 vehicles in areas with high youth traffic, such as squares and shopping centers.

The local operation’s outcomes include one arrest and one report for adults, along with seven preventive measures such as expulsion orders and bans on access to public venues. Additionally, three administrative fines were issued for public intoxication and drug use, while 4.78 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of hashish, and two knives were seized. This action serves as a clear signal against urban decay linked to youth micro-crime, with the police headquarters reaffirming its commitment to ensuring safety for the community.
