Mantua Launches “Wellness and Safety” Program for AIDS Awareness and Prevention
At the municipal swimming pool on Via Lonato, a course titled “Wellness and Safety” was held in recent days. This is a prevention project against AIDS aimed at young people in the province of Mantua. The program was developed in collaboration with the ASP, the Province, and the Arca Association.
The target audience includes young people aged 13 to 35, frequenting social venues or sporting and cultural groups, as well as adults working within these contexts. Overall, the project aimed to reach approximately 100,000 people across the entire provincial territory, and the Castiglione delle Stiviere swimming pool was one of the stops on the AIDS prevention route.
A disease for which prevention is of utmost importance. The methods employed to contribute to the fight against HIV were numerous: meetings and gatherings, socio-cultural activities (thanks to Arca and Teatro Magro), a mobile ASP van touring the territory, questionnaires and forms, various informational and educational materials.
Objectives and results of the initiative
The promoters expect several outcomes from this initiative, primarily to build a territorial network to understand existing risk and discomfort situations, ensuring that various participating entities, located in different municipalities of Mantua, directly take initiative to contribute to AIDS prevention.
