Mantua Launches Youth Information Desk with Employee Training Program

The municipality, as a member of the Provincial Committee for Informagiovani Promotion, will send two employees to a training course organized by the Province, aimed at operators of this new service, so that they can effectively launch the Youth Information Desk in the coming months. This was announced by the transparency and communication assessor, Angelo Tagliani.

Current status and employee training

For now, the project is in its embryonic stage at the public relations office, but it will still take some time before all the services envisaged can be provided to citizens. From the upcoming days until January 2001, Marzia Ranzetti and Morena Leali will be in Mantua for 19 meetings totaling 91 hours of training, which includes an advanced Internet course organized by the Asi di Mantova.

Thirty municipalities in Mantua have joined the provincial project, 17 of which have already activated the Informagiovani.

Goals and future services

«Some answers to the requests of young people are already available at the Urp» – explains assessor Tagliani – «with this training course, which we are sending two of our employees to, we aim to lay the foundations for a complete Informagiovani offering all services and an Internet site, which will be accessible to the population in the coming months.

In collaboration with other centers in Mantua, we will need to organize a common forms package, a directory, bibliographies, data archiving methods, and agreements with various entities». Soon, therefore, the young people of Castiglione will be able to find numerous pieces of information at the town hall regarding work, school, travel and tourism, opportunities for study and employment abroad, military service, as well as sports and leisure activities.
