Mario Ferrari Library Sparks Cultural and Social Growth in Sirmione 2025

Sirmione’s Mario Ferrari Library demonstrated significant social and economic impact in 2025, with a valuation exceeding €453,000. The library recorded over 34,000 book loans from nearly 39,000 volumes, generating an estimated €408,000 from loans and over €40,000 from cultural courses and free initiatives. Active participation reached 19.29% of the local population, with a loan-to-population ratio of 2.61.

Operating 37.5 hours weekly and increasing event participation by 12.5% compared to 2024, the library hosted 2,024 attendees across various programs, despite ongoing entrance renovations. Future plans include the spring 2026 “The Movement of Stories” workshop for children aged 9-12, scheduled for April 1, 8, and 15, led by Giulia Tosoni, focusing on creating narrative mobiles for the Pietra & Co. 2026 project.
