On the afternoon of Saturday, June 14, a windsurfer was rescued off the coast of Torbole after sustaining a leg injury. The incident occurred approximately 500 meters from shore when the boom of his board broke, leaving him adrift. The situation alerted the Coast Guard, which promptly dispatched a patrol boat to assist him.
The operators were able to reach the man within minutes, stabilizing him and transferring him onto the vessel. Once back on shore, the medical personnel already on-site transported him to the hospital in Arco for necessary treatment and further examinations. Fortunately, the incident ended without serious consequences for the windsurfer.
