Medical Emergency at Pirlo Refuge on Spino as Rescue Team Airlifts Man to Hospital

A 70-year-old man suffered a medical emergency at Rifugio Pirlo allo Spino near Toscolano Maderno, at about 1,100 meters above sea level, on Wednesday morning, June 10, 2026. The incident prompted a response from the SOREU delle Alpi, with the CNSAS Valle Sabbia Station (5th Brescia Delegation) and an Verona-based helicopter deployed to the scene.

Two CNSAS technicians assisted the operation on site alongside the helicopter; after initial treatment, the man was recovered and airlifted to a hospital for examinations and care. The operation concluded in the early afternoon after the rescue and transport were completed.
