Melges 32 Sweep Trans Benaco Cruise Race in Riva

The Trans Benaco Cruise Race opened at Riva del Garda on 25 July 2026 with the Melges 32 of C.N.B., skippered by owner Carlo Cavagna, taking first place in the first completed race. Cavagna’s boat finished narrowly ahead of Fremito d’Arja, another Melges 32 helmed by Dario Levi, while PO’RA of Limone Garda Sailing ASD, sailed and managed by Claudio Tonoli, placed third.

The race started at 10:28 from the water area north of Isola del Garda, in the San Felice del Benaco area, and involved 54 boats. After an initial calm phase required adjustments to the starting line, a strengthening south wind made the beat toward Riva closely contested. The second and decisive race of the 40th edition is scheduled for Sunday 26 July, when the winner of the Trophy will be determined.
