Starting from September 15, 2025, the regional train service in Lombardy will undergo a significant enhancement, thanks to Trenord’s initiative aimed at improving Lombard mobility. Among the most noteworthy updates is the addition of the Milano Forlanini stop on the Milano – Lodi – Piacenza line, which will provide a direct connection to Linate Airport through the new M4 metro line. The Regional Transport and Sustainable Mobility Councillor, Franco Lucente, emphasized the importance of this initiative in addressing the needs of commuters and enhancing the region.
With the completion of infrastructure works between Lecco and Tirano scheduled for September 14, the summer construction sites will also close, allowing for a gradual return to full speed on the affected routes. Trenord will increase evening services on the Milano – Pavia and Milano – Varese lines, enhance holiday services on the Brescia – Cremona route, and boost cross-border connections. On weekdays, over 2,350 services will be available, making travel within the region more accessible.
