Mira and the Atlantic Crossing: Triumph at Rodney Bay

After 22 days at sea, the sailing boat Mira has reached Rodney Bay in Saint Lucia, successfully completing an Atlantic crossing that began on November 23 from Gran Canaria. The Salò sailor Fulvio Angelini, on his third crossing, chose this endeavor to celebrate his significant milestone of turning seventy. Accompanying him were his students Giordano Lussignoli and Ivan Togni, who embarked on this adventure aboard the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 41.9 provided by the owner and skipper Alberto Cavagnini.

The crew participated in the 40th edition of the ARC – Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, one of the most renowned ocean crossings for amateur sailors, featuring 150 yachts on a 2,700 nautical mile route, propelled by the trade winds towards the Caribbean. Angelini described the experience as “challenging, wonderful, and intense,” emphasizing the significance of this journey in his sailing life.
