A couple has been reported by the Carabinieri of Arco for carrying out the mirror scam against a motorist. The incident occurred in the early days of July on the Gardesana 45 bis, near Vigolo Baselga. The victim reported hearing a loud noise while driving, and after being urged to pull over by the driver of the car behind her, she was approached by a man and a woman who accused her of damaging their vehicle, showing her a broken rearview mirror. After threatening to involve the authorities, the couple proposed a financial settlement to avoid legal consequences, initially demanding 600 euros. The woman, having only 150 euros in cash, agreed to pay this amount before the two quickly left the scene. Upon returning home, she discovered that the marks on her vehicle had been made with a wax crayon. After reporting the incident to the Carabinieri, investigations led to the identification of the perpetrators, both of whom have been reported for fraud but are presumed innocent until a final conviction.
