Mixed Reviews for Rivalunga Promenade Paving Amid Ongoing Repairs

An imperfect job. A few months after the completion of the Rivalunga promenade, complaints are being voiced by some kiosk owners facing the busy shoreline connecting the lakeside center to Garda.

Reactions to the paving

“The new paving,” states Arnaldo Avanzini, “has not solved the core issue. Pedestrians and bicycles passing over it continue to stir up clouds of dust. When it rains, puddles form at various points along the road. In practice, despite the facelift, the shoreline still exhibits many of the old and annoying inconveniences from the past when it was just dirt.”

The matter has indeed ended up on the agenda at the City Council, with the public works councilor Aristide Avanzini ready to respond to a comment from the opposition councilor Pietro Meschi.

Interventions and solutions

“The entire promenade has already been swept to check whether the dust present was the same from the early days or caused by the crumbling of the cement mixture. It appears that some sections have been constructed properly, while in other areas, dust continues to rise.”

“We have already involved both the project director and the company to study possible solutions and interventions to be carried out.”

The future of the works

Regarding the fact that the works to complete the promenade up to the Garda border have not been included in the budget and therefore not scheduled for autumn as previously indicated, the councilor Avanzini simply remarked: “It will be addressed next year.”
