The Province has announced the convening of a roundtable on mobility at Lake Garda, involving mayors and local stakeholders, to address issues related to public transportation in the area. Vice President Fabio Rolfi emphasized the importance of sustainably enhancing the transportation system, especially in light of the increasing tourist influx and the need to improve accessibility to the Brescia shores. The meeting aims to develop innovative measures, such as on-demand services, to meet the needs of both residents and visitors.
In 2024, significant results have been recorded thanks to initiatives such as the summer Shuttle Bus service, which transported approximately 370,000 passengers, and the new R-link line connecting Salò and Desenzano FS. However, challenges remain due to a lack of financial resources and personnel. Rolfi highlighted the urgency of a collaborative approach between public and private entities to build an efficient and environmentally friendly mobility system, essential for attracting Northern European tourists who are sensitive to these issues.
