Monaco to Torbole Record: 9 Hours, 8 Minutes to Reach the Finish

A new Monaco–Torbole record has been set by professional triathletes Niklas Ludwig, 24, and Max Hoffmann, 29, who completed the route in 9 hours, 8 minutes and 31 seconds during the night of August 15–16. They started at midnight from Marienplatz in Munich and covered 364.67 km across three countries, averaging 39.9 km/h with a total elevation gain of 2,411 meters.

The pair faced headwinds in the Inn valley, muscle issues, and stomach problems near the Brenner Pass, along with some navigation mistakes after Bolzano. After slowing down to recover, they regained pace in the second half and beat their target of ten hours. The attempt was supported by a seven-person team, but it is not considered an officially certified record because it was completed without a competitive race classification; it is instead recognized as an FKT, or fastest known time, for the route.
