The municipal administration of Moniga del Garda held a presentation yesterday evening at 9:00 PM in the council hall of the Municipality. The presentation focused on the urban redevelopment project of the historic center, with particular attention to Via Carlo Alberto and Piazza San Martino. Mayor Renato Marcoli emphasized the importance of this project, which was developed in collaboration with the entire municipal administration and with the favorable opinion of the opposition, with the aim of making the historic center of the Municipality more livable and attractive.

As explained by architects Nicola Bollani and Federica Rovati, who were responsible for the development of the project, the plan includes making Piazza San Martino completely pedestrianized, with traffic being redirected around the historic center. Via Carlo Alberto will be transformed into a one-way street, with renewed sidewalks and new trees, to make Moniga’s center a more welcoming and human-scale place. In addition to redirecting vehicular traffic, structures will also be used to mask it, making it invisible to those who want to live in the area.

The project has a cost of €1,600,000, with €600,000 provided by the municipal administration and the remaining amount through a loan. Currently, the municipal coffers allow for this type of operation, and this intervention will not have negative repercussions on the budget. All plants and materials used have been carefully chosen, for example, low water demand and small-sized plants, to ensure sustainable maintenance over time.

The works are expected to begin next October and be completed by Easter 2025. Below are some images of the presented project.
