The attention remains high in Bardolino regarding hydrogeological issues and the situation of the water and sewage network, which has been put under pressure by the exceptional rainfall on June 23rd. The municipal administration is engaged in constant monitoring of the damage caused by the bad weather and in planning interventions to resolve the issues that have arisen.

Solidarity with Torri del Benaco

The Municipality of Bardolino has expressed solidarity with the community of Torri del Benaco, which has recently been affected by cases of gastroenteritis caused by viruses found in their water network. Mayor Daniele Bertasi reassured citizens by stating that Bardolino’s water system is independent and autonomous from that of Torri del Benaco. “In our municipality, water is drawn from the wells of Creole, Cisano, Campazzi, and Calmasino, and to date there have been no cases of Norovirus and Enterovirus contamination,” said Bertasi.

Meeting with Azienda Gardesana Servizi

On Wednesday, July 3rd, the municipal administration will once again meet with Azienda Gardesana Servizi (Ags) to discuss issues related to the collector in Piazza Lago in Cisano. Some manholes have experienced leaks due to the phenomenon of “overflow,” caused by the rising lake level and pressure on the pipes.

“We have been reporting this issue daily, and the situation is improving thanks to the cleaning interventions carried out by Ags in coordination with the municipal offices,” informed the mayor. Last week, together with the Environment Councilor Simone Corradini, Bertasi met with Ags President Angelo Cresco to assess the situation. “On Wednesday, we will go to the Ags offices to monitor the situation and plan the necessary interventions for the modernization of the water and sewage system,” he added.

Planning Interventions

On the morning of July 1st, Mayor Bertasi and Public Works Councilor Marta Ferrari met with engineer Marco Torresendi, the technician responsible for planning interventions for the hydraulic safety of the municipal territory. During the meeting, the priority steps to address long-neglected situations were identified.

“The interventions decided in coordination with Ags include work on both the separation of the sewage system and targeted measures to lighten the load on the water and sewage networks,” explained Bertasi. Special attention will be given to areas such as Cisano and the historic center of Bardolino, where the main difficulties have been recorded over the years.
