The Cammino di Montecastello has been inaugurated in Tignale, an 8.5 km trail that weaves through history, nature, and spirituality. This initiative is part of the “Stories from the Territory” project, retracing the ancient pilgrimage of the statue of the Madonna di Montecastello and offering an authentic experience immersed in breathtaking views of the lake. The trail, with an elevation gain of approximately 870 meters and an estimated walking time of 4 hours, is designed for experienced hikers and aims to promote sustainable tourism, enhancing the cultural heritage of Alto Garda. The Cammino connects significant historical and spiritual sites such as the Sanctuary of Montecastello and the Franciscan Hermitage of San Giorgio in Varolo. Through this project, Tignale positions itself as a “slow” tourism destination, encouraging the use of public transport and engaging the local community. Future plans include the installation of informative signage and the restoration of the votive chapels of the Rosary, as well as the creation of multimedia content to enrich the visitor experience.
