Montichiari car meet turns chaotic at night at Centro Fiera, with German participants

A car meet linked to the SO.GA event turned into what authorities described as an illegal gathering at Montichiari’s Fiera Centre during the night between Friday and Saturday, with incidents concentrated from 10:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Thousands of participants—mostly from Germany—flooded the area, making it difficult for police to manage the situation.

According to Mayor Marco Togni, the police response was hindered by the numerical imbalance, describing it as “one to a thousand.” Footage and reports from the scene included people on rooftops, fireworks and smoke flares, fuel being poured and ignited, and tire changes carried out on the track. No official figures have been released yet, and there is no confirmed information on any fines or measures, though the mayor said he thanked law enforcement for monitoring the event overnight.
