Montichiari: School Funds Embezzlement, Director Arrested Giancarlo Dasè, the chairman of the board of the “Don Arcangelo Tadini” school cooperative in Montichiari, has been arrested on charges of embezzlement and self-laundering. Investigations conducted by the Guardia di Finanza revealed that Dasè allegedly misappropriated over €400,000 from the institution’s funds, using it for personal purposes. The irregularities came to light during a routine tax audit, which uncovered transfers directed to personal accounts and the purchase of items unrelated to school activities.
The arrest took place at the end of April and was validated by the investigating judge, who also ordered the preventive seizure of assets and the prohibition of Dasè from serving as an administrator. The cooperative is now working to clarify the financial management of recent years to determine the actual economic damage incurred. Currently, the misappropriated funds have not been recovered and are presumed to have been entirely spent.
