Motorbike escape from Torbole to Riva ends with tourist arrest

A motorcycle chase that began in Torbole after a Carabinieri stop ended in Riva del Garda with the arrest of a foreign tourist riding a high-displacement bike. According to investigators, the rider slowed down and then accelerated, triggering a pursuit that continued into the city, including stretches driven the wrong way and at high speed.

Police stopped the suspect after a few kilometers without injuries to other people or damage. The arrest on charges of resisting a public official and dangerous escape was validated by the Court of Rovereto, which ordered a probation measure in the rider’s home country and released him. Authorities also seized his driving licence pending suspension, confiscated the motorcycle for possible forfeiture, and imposed a fine of about €200.
