A tragic hiking accident occurred yesterday, Tuesday, June 3, along the Crest of Monte Biaina in the Upper Garda area, where a 55-year-old man from Arco lost his life following a severe fall in a rugged section of the trail. The incident took place around noon at an altitude of 1,350 meters, while the man was accompanied by a friend. According to initial reports, the 55-year-old lost his balance after tripping over an uneven part of the path, falling approximately one hundred meters onto the rocks below.
His companion, in shock and unable to reach his friend or establish phone contact, immediately alerted emergency services by calling the Unified Emergency Number 112. Alpine rescue teams and medical personnel arrived at the scene; however, despite attempts at resuscitation, there was nothing more that could be done for the hiker. The area was secured to allow for the recovery of the body and the necessary investigations to reconstruct the circumstances of the mountain accident.
