Mountain Rescue and Alpine Rescue Teams Strengthen Ties in Valleadige

On 15 December in Rome the National Firefighters Corps and the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps signed an agreement to improve rescue operations in mountainous, underground and hard-to-reach areas, including the Valleadige.

Signed by Prefect Attilio Visconti and President Maurizio Dellantonio in the presence of other authorities, the pact establishes shared guidelines for alerting, faster information exchange between operations rooms and reciprocal use of equipment and resources during joint interventions. It also commits both bodies to joint training and exercises involving Civil Protection components and to study and research projects aimed at further professionalizing the operational response.
