Mountain rescue in Malcesine: recovery of tourists on Mount Fubia
Two German tourists, aged 34 and 35, were rescued last night, Thursday, September 18, after becoming stranded on a steep slope of Monte Fubia above Malcesine. The alert was raised around 6 PM when the hikers contacted the Verona Mountain Rescue to report their difficult situation, which was due to losing their way in a wooded area characterized by dense vegetation and poorly visible signage. A first team of rescuers, already nearby, quickly reached the scene of the incident and received reinforcements from Verona. After ascending a wooded section to the north and descending along a less exposed route, the rescuers located the two women in good physical condition. While they were secured with ropes and harnesses, they were escorted on foot to Navene, where a jeep from the Mountain Rescue took them back to the center of Malcesine around 10 PM.
