An intervention by the Mountain Rescue Service was necessary on Wednesday, July 9, to rescue a 29-year-old German tourist stranded on an exposed section of Monte Baldo. The young man, while searching for a suitable spot for paragliding, left the marked trail in an attempt to shorten his route but lost his backpack containing his equipment and found himself in a difficult situation. The emergency call activated the helicopter rescue team from Trento.
Once located, a technician from the Mountain Rescue Service was lowered by winch to the critical point to ensure the safe recovery of the young hiker. Fortunately, there were no serious consequences for the tourist, who was brought back to the ground safe and sound. The incident occurred near Malcesine, where the rescue operations took place.
