Hikers and their dog stranded on Monte Pizzocolo, Alpine rescue intervention. Yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, June 10, two hikers and their dog became trapped on a ridge at about a thousand meters above sea level on Monte Pizzocolo, in the municipality of Toscolano Maderno. The alert was raised shortly after 2:00 PM, activating the Soreu delle Alpi operations center, which promptly mobilized the Alpine Rescue – Valle Sabbia Station. Four technicians headed towards the stranded individuals.
Although fatigued, the two hikers were in good physical condition. One of them was assisted by the Fire Brigade and walked down to safety, while the other and his dog were safely rescued by helicopter. The operation concluded successfully thanks to the promptness and cooperation among the involved rescue teams.
