Municipal Green Area Redevelopment Tenders Set for October 24th
The tender for the redevelopment works of certain green areas within the municipal territory will take place on October 24th. The notice posted at the town hall pertains to the third phase of the overall project to upgrade standard surfaces that the administration has decided to improve.
Works in Green Areas and Residential Zones
Specifically, the project involves land located in via Verdi and an area in the I Maggio neighborhood. The first intervention, in the Fontane area, includes the creation of a grass surface and the installation of urban furniture, such as benches and trash bins, as well as a pedestrian crossing. These beautification works aim to enhance the neighborhood, providing a green space for children’s play.
In I Maggio, a densely populated residential district, the works concern the improvement of surfaces near the parking lot and the dirt football field. In addition to grass with irrigation and lighting, trees will be planted.
Funding Details and Timeline
The total amount for the two projects, commissioned by the Public Works Councillor Innocente Sereni, is just over 150 million euros. Specifically, 57 million will cover roadworks, 40 million for public greenery and urban furniture, 38 million for irrigation and sewer systems, and 18 million for lighting.
The company that wins the tender scheduled for October 24th will have 100 days to complete the work in the two mentioned areas. The project at the standard area of via Solferino, in the Fontane Est district opposite the fire station, is nearly finished.
Completed and Ongoing Works
Planting has been carried out, and benches and other urban furniture have been installed along the extensive strip of land along the first section of the provincial road connecting Castiglione and Valeggio.
Regarding roadworks, work is underway to refurbish via Croce Rossa, where the asphalt will be redone and a cycle-pedestrian lane is being created on the right side of the road, near the Mario Cardone stadium.
Finally, completed projects include the resurfacing of via Mazzolari, with a new asphalt layer and a path for bicycles and pedestrians, as well as work near the San Pietro stadium.
