Municipal Green Space Renovation: New Park Unveiled on Via Campasso
Yesterday afternoon, in the presence of Mayor Arturo Sigurtà and Public Works Councilor Innocente Sereni, the new equipped green area on Via Campasso was inaugurated.
Description of the Park
This is a park located next to the operational headquarters of the Italian Red Cross (Croce Rossa Italiana) and the Fiordaliso cooperative. For years, it remained an area with tall grass and a lot of disorder, but now, following the municipal administration’s plan for the improvement of standard public green spaces, it has a better appearance.
Thanks to internal design by the technical office, there are benches, a green lawn, children’s play equipment, pedestrian paths, a small fountain with drinking water, all landscaped, illuminated, and equipped with automatic irrigation.
Infrastructures and Interventions
Additionally, parking spaces have been created in the upper part of the plot, along with an ecological station for waste sorting, and the wall bordering the park has been secured.
For this project, the administration spent 200 million lire, which are added to other funds allocated by the council (giunta) for the recovery of numerous standard areas scattered throughout the city, to be gradually completed in phases.
“The history of this now-renovated park is long,” explained Councilor Sereni. “About ten years ago, the municipal buildings housing the Red Cross and Fiordaliso cooperative were renovated. Then, we focused on parking spaces, and finally, our administration completed the project with the green area.”
Works and Expenses
Overall, for green areas and standards, the Sigurtà administration has already spent over 1.2 billion lire, including the Desenzani area.
Works are underway on I Maggio and Puccini streets, with others planned on Solferino street, opposite the Vigili del Fuoco, and on via Bignotti in Fontane.
