Municipal Road Safety and Maintenance Enforcement Guidelines
Interventions and sanctions
The municipal administration has already contracted a private company, as in previous years, to carry out interventions in cases where owners and tenants have not timely complied with the provisions of the order issued by the Head of Public Works and Heritage Maintenance Office.
Citizens pay attention: besides covering the cost of the intervention, non-compliant individuals will also face a fine of 300,000 lire.
Regulations and technical requirements
The same Highway Code specifies that in inhabited areas and outside them, at locations with curves or at-grade intersections, within 20 meters from them, hedges of any kind and metal fences cannot exceed one meter in height.
Systems placed laterally along roads, outside inhabited centers — whether hedges, metal fences, barbed wire, or similar material — must be placed at least one meter from the road boundary if less than a meter high, and at least three meters from the boundary if exceeding one meter in height.
The ordinance also prohibits planting trees closer than six meters from the road boundary, as well as opening channels, ditches, or any excavation within three meters of the municipal road.
Objectives of the administration
The goal set by the municipal administration is not only to offer greater safety for users and pedestrians of less trafficked roads but also to present a well-maintained image of the areas, which, beyond beautification, should be a source of pride for all citizens.
