The Civic Museum of Salò, known as MuSa, has launched a summer initiative to bring local students closer to culture. During the summer months, all students attending schools in Salò will have free access to the museum’s exhibitions.

Starting from May 18th, MuSa is hosting the exhibition “From Splendor to Uncertainty 1910-1950. Stories from a Private Collection.” Curated by Federica Bolpagni, Lisa Cervigni, and Anna Lisa Ghirardi, the exhibition offers a unique glimpse into early 20th-century artworks from a private collection that is not usually accessible to the public. This exhibition will conclude on September 8th to make way for “Francis Bacon. Capture room,” which will showcase some drawings by the acclaimed Irish artist.

The museum’s director, Lisa Cervigni, has informed school principals that, aware that the exhibition period does not coincide with the school calendar, MuSa invites all students from Salò schools to visit the exhibitions during the summer. Students will have free admission and will be entitled to a 2 euro discount on the entrance ticket for a maximum of two accompanying adults. Teachers will also benefit from a reduced rate of 7 euros instead of 9.

“We believe it is essential for the young people of Salò and the surrounding areas to be able to enjoy our cultural offering both as a school experience and as individuals,” says Cervigni. “This exhibition is particularly suitable for children and their families due to the beauty of the exhibited artworks and the educational approach.”

In addition to the main exhibitions, MuSa also organizes other cultural activities for children and families. The “Adventures at the Museum” program offers workshops for children aged 5 to 11 every Saturday morning starting from June 22nd. Furthermore, the “Secret Stories” series offers guided tours directly curated by the museum director and the exhibition curators.

For more details on the initiative and the collateral activities, visitors can check the museum’s official website at museodisalo.it.
