Music and Solidarity Events for Garda Youth by Avis Salò

Concerts and solidarity events for the youth of Garda: this is the proposal for 2000 by the Avis di Salò section, which brings together blood donors residing in the municipalities of the Garda Riviera. It is a series of events, grouped under the name «Music and Life: A Project for Gardesani Youth», aimed at the young people and those interacting with them, to promote the objectives of the Associazione Volontari Italiani Sangue, but also for cultural promotion, health awareness, and quality of life.

Tignale, Tremosine, Toscolano Maderno, Gargnano, Limone sul Garda, San Felice del Benaco, Gardone Riviera, Salò, Roè Volciano: all are municipalities under the jurisdiction of the Avis di Salò section, chaired by Silvano Boni.

«In particular,» emphasizes the section secretary, Luisa Ebranati, «the initiative targets young students of the Itc e Geometri “Battisti” and the “Fermi” high school in Salò, the hospitality institute of Gardone Riviera, and the Art Institute of Gargnano. It aims to provide opportunities for training and growth, offer moments of recreation and cultural exchange through music, and serve as a platform for understanding the needs of young people and the ideas of those responsible for their welfare.»

In addition to concerts of various musical genres, the program also includes some particularly engaging events for young people and open to all local schools, such as the meeting with Omar Pedrini of Timoria scheduled for October, or the roundtable in December on «Use and Abuse – Trends and Excesses in Diet, Sex, and Risky Behaviors,» featuring Don Mazzi and Franco Manara.

Next Thursday, June 15, at the «Baden Powell» Gardens of the Salò high school, there will be a jazz concert by Franco Cerri and Enrico Intra (admission 15,000 lire, free for young people). This will be followed on Saturday, July 1, by a gospel concert featuring the duo «Ginger Brew & Kay Foster».

On Friday, September 22, there will be a celebration of Brescia’s linguistic and musical traditions with «Törölölö».
