Nago-Torbole Seeks Resolution Over Asset Disputes and Ags Entry
After Nago-Torbole’s separation from the Comune of Riva in 1956, some issues remained unresolved, which the two municipalities are now trying to settle definitively. It appears that assets belonging to Nago-Torbole are being used by Riva (such as furnishings in the Mayor’s conference room), and conversely, some assets of Riva are utilized by Nago-Torbole (the former Nago medical clinic, used by young people and dubbed the “bunker”). There is a need to close this dispute, and as also mentioned in the City Council by Mayor Parolari, the matter involves Nago-Torbole’s entry into Ags, the Riva-based public company created after the dissolution of Amsea.
At the time of the separation, Amsea remained owned by Riva, benefiting both the municipality and the residents, who were able to purchase electricity at discounted rates. In contrast, Nago-Torbole, which had contributed to the company’s growth, no longer gained any advantages.
In fact: a series of service disruptions led to speculation that the company might pass under Enel. Now, after lengthy negotiations, there is an expectation that Nago-Torbole will join the Board of Directors of Ags, without placing a heavy financial burden on the municipality.
