Natale a scuola: Nativity Scene Exhibition Returns to Collodi School

After a year break, the exhibition of handcrafted nativity scenes, “Natale a scuola,” organized by the “Il barometro” Association with the support of the Assessorato alla pubblica istruzione, the Pro loco, the Alpini, and the Pensionati, returns.

The event, hosted at the Collodi elementary school, will be inaugurated by Mayor Fausto Sachetto on Saturday at 10 am in the school gym and will run until January 7th (hours 9:00-12:30 and 14:30-19:30 on holidays; 14:30-17:30 on weekdays).

An exhibition of about one hundred nativity scenes made by local artisans and from various Italian regions will be displayed. Works from foreign countries and a section dedicated to creations by local school children will also be featured.

On weekdays, a workshop will be available where an expert will teach visitors how to make nativity figurines with various materials.

In front of the school, a nativity scene sculpture created by Giovanni Finardi will be placed near the seven-meter-tall nativity already present, inviting visitors to come inside.

Events during the exhibition

During the exhibition, visitors can attend a Christmas concert by the parish choir at 4:00 pm on December 26th, and a puppet and marionette show presented by Leonardo Lepri, which will be performed again on January 1st.

Proceeds from the various activities will be donated to Telefono Azzurro and to the construction of a house for children affected by floods in Mozambique.
