A nautical incident occurred in Salò, where a hearing took place in the Supreme Court regarding the death of Greta Nedrotti and Umberto Garzarella, the two young individuals who tragically lost their lives in the summer of 2021 in Lake Garda. During the approximately two-hour hearing, the Attorney General requested the confirmation of the sentences imposed on Patrick Kassen and Christian Teismann, who were sentenced to 4 years and 6 months and 2 years and 11 months, respectively, for their involvement in the incident when the speedboat they were operating collided with the youths’ boat. Although the two Germans were not present in the courtroom, the families of the victims were in attendance.
The defense lawyers raised doubts about the alleged shared responsibility of Garzella for stopping in the waters of Garda, a claim that had already been dismissed by judges in previous stages of the trial. The final ruling is expected in the afternoon, as the families of the victims closely monitor the developments in the case.
