New Hiking Guide for Alto Garda Bresciano Trails Published by Grafo di Brescia

The new “Guide to Hiking Trails of Alto Garda Bresciano”, published by Grafo di Brescia on behalf of the Comunità montana, has been released. The booklet, available in Italian and German, aims to be an easy-to-consult tool for all those who wish to explore the complex naturalistic and hiking landscape of the park.

Demand for cultivation, pastoralism, forest management, combined with military needs (since the area was a border land until recent times), resulted in Alto Garda developing an extensive network of roads, mule tracks, and trails, connecting even the most remote areas.

Importance and purpose of the guide

“It is a wealth that must be preserved,” writes the guide’s editor Franco Ghitti in the introduction. “And, besides enabling correct land management, it also offers an important resource for today’s educational purposes, for approaching and understanding nature, but also for tourism, providing an additional stimulus and a significant reason for sightseeing for visitors.”

The guide, accompanied by a 1:25,000 scale map, is available for 7,000 lire at the Comunità montana and the Park Information Centers.
