The debate over the new hospital in Desenzano is intensifying ahead of the visit from the regional Welfare assessor, scheduled for Tuesday, September 17. Opposition regional councilors from Brescia, including representatives from the Democratic Party and the Five Star Movement, have requested a hearing with the citizens’ committee opposing the project. The main concerns revolve around the choice of land, deemed problematic from a hydrogeological perspective and insufficient for potential future expansions, as well as the reduction in the number of beds and the design of an underground emergency room.
Miriam Cominelli, the primary signatory of the request for the hearing, emphasized the importance of listening to the citizens regarding such a crucial project for the area. The committee “Let’s Keep the Hospital in Desenzano” is actively working to raise awareness within the community and has scheduled a demonstration at Palazzo Todeschini during the meeting. Additionally, they will present a document outlining the issues identified in the current project, calling for greater transparency in decisions affecting local public health.
