New Restricted Traffic Zone in Verona’s Historic Center From October

Starting yesterday, a restricted traffic zone has been established in the historic center: the measure will remain in effect until the third Sunday of October inclusive. This ordinance by the mayor sets the rules and limits, promoting safety and public safety in the historic center.

The mayor’s ordinance permits access from 6:00 to 10:30 AM and from 2:00 to 5:00 PM via via Porta San Zeno, Piazzetta Don Agostini, via and vicolo Chiesa, via Aldegheri, via and Piazza Gafforini, via Scolarin, via and Piazza Milana, via and Piazzetta Beccherie up to the intersection with Corso Cangrande.

New restricted traffic zone within the Scaliger walls

In the remaining part of the historic center within the Scaliger walls, a new restricted traffic zone will come into effect, differing from the first only in the access period, which is now reduced to 6:00 – 10:00.

Within these areas, transit and parking of all vehicles are prohibited, except for commercial vehicles solely for loading and unloading goods, and only during designated time slots, as indicated by signage at the entrances to the restricted traffic zone.

Business owners may, upon request, use scooters for goods transportation needs. Residents with garages can only access them if they possess a permit.

Authorizations and enforcement

Hospitality business owners located within the restricted traffic zone can obtain authorization to allow luggage loading and unloading for their customers.

The municipal police are tasked with enforcing the mayor’s ordinance, including fines and towing if necessary.

Commercial vehicles involved in unloading must be parked in a way that does not obstruct traffic flow, and on Lungolago Marconi, they should only stop on the lakeside frontage.
